What’s been going on with me lately? Lots of stuff; also some things, and a few whathaveyous, but mainly stuff.

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Complete: Media Day — 4.12.11

12 04 2011

Today was Media Day at JWF. The players trained on the new pitch for the first time; and but for some remaining cosmetic work, the stadium renovation is complete.

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Update — 4.6.11

6 04 2011

I wanted to get a few pics of the work along 18th Ave., because I forgot to get over there last week. They’ve made tremendous progress since last time I looked, and it appears to be complete but for some cosmetics (the same can be said for the rest of the stadium now, really). The first thing I saw when I came around the corner was the new team shop.

I think that gate-type thing above the walkway leading into the concourse is a…well, a gate-type thing that will lower on non-game days, allowing the 18th Ave. plaza to be open to the public.

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Update — 3.31.11

1 04 2011

With just two weeks(!) until the home opener, workers are for the most part putting the finishing touches on the stadium. The most noticeable change I saw yesterday were the new LED ad boards on the east and south sides of the field.

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Update — 3.24.11

25 03 2011

Here are a few pics from yesterday at the park. There isn’t much to new to report as things draw toward a conclusion; most of the stadium is still kind of a mess, but inside the seating bowl looks fantastic, like it could host a game today.

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Update — 3.21.11

21 03 2011

I’m not scheduled to get more pics until later this week, but I had ants in my pants today — first full day of Spring! — and I wanted to see the progress on 18th Ave even if I couldn’t get inside the stadium. There is indeed still a ton of activity happening on that side of JELD-WEN Field (keep saying it, it’ll start feeling normaler and normaler).

JELD-WEN Field Renovation Update — 3.17.11

17 03 2011

As you have no doubt heard by now, PGE Park is no more. Portland Timbers will play their home games in JELD-WEN Field. Huzzah to the future!

PGE Park Renovation: Stadium Tour — 3.13.11

13 03 2011

I attended the 107ist stadium viewing today at the Park still known, at the time of this post, as PGE. There isn’t much new to report since my last post on Friday, but it was another nice day at the park, and helped feed the surge of anticipation for the season (which may I remind you is in less than one week *frothfrothfroth*).

PGE Park Renovation Update — 3.11.11

11 03 2011

With just over a month before the home opener, and a mere eight days until the season opener, the stadium soon-to-be-formerly-known-as PGE Park looks…pretty much like a proper soccer park.
